Chapter 6

Chapter 6 is an overview on public discourse ethics which "examines differing insights that shape our public engagement."(100)  In our life we all see others who express their opposing views more prominently then others. There is not a right or wrong when it comes to some issues, but their is a right or wrong way people go about expressing them. Being open to different ideas even if they do not match our own helps us gain more understanding on the matter. If I attend a democratic rally and learn about ideas I can not only connect with others that share that interest, but understand the differences in both parties. This is the same if I went to a republican rally. Instead of being bias I could learn factional information that could give me a better understanding of the whole political system. With so many opposing views it would  make better sense if I would learn more about each so I can fully understand why I support one side and give reasons as to why I do support it besides just saying I like it because it is better.
