Chapter 8

Chapter 8 introduce us to "Organizational Communication ethics" ".. is the orchestrating of communicative practices that announces for formal and informal structures of events and persons in a given organization interrelate to accomplish a purpose or purposes"(140). According to the book organizational communication ethics help us fo our life together, and it's about finding types of communication needed to help getting a task done within a organization. The chapter help us understand the concept by using different ethics praxis in form of, Organizational communication, Dwelling place, Organizations and institutions, Community of memory within organizations.

Most importantly Organizational communication work to support and have a sense of the good by having an understand of the dwelling place. "the type of communicative home a give oorganization invites by its communicative practices", I believe it's important to have in mind that the notion of "good" in communication ethics  varies among people and cultures and people have different ways to what they choose to identify as the "dwelling place".

"A community of memory within an organization frames its identity and its political life"(145).  An organization can be important I our lives since they offer a place to participate, belong with people and they most importantly situate our lives. Organizational communication ethics can be seen in choosing an organization, I think the book uses a great example when you are choosing to pursue a higher education, since you are trying to choose a higher education that provides the best fit or right dwelling place to help shaping your future. I experienced the same thing when I tried to find a gym that I found appealing, I wanted to find a place that gives identity and that has a younger crowd since I believed that would make me more motivated, I basically looked for a place that I could identify as my dwelling place, where people had the same goal as me.
