Chapter 8

Chapter talks about Organizational communication ethics  which "centers on a particular good that defines a dwelling place, which then shapes communicative practices and our interpretive engagement with a community of memory" (141).  A dwelling place should be a safe environment for all to express ideas. Within each organization there are mission statements that must be clear in order for the community within to understand. 

I am connected to an organization of mediation where the primary focus is helping others find themselves. Everyone has their own unique ideas during the meeting and they are expressed intrapersonally. This dwelling place is calm and focuses on the benefit of the individual. Having a place to concentrate on my thoughts and find a more positive feeling while being surrounded by others doing the same is truly rewarding to me.
